Every Piece Here Was Made by a Woman Working From Her Own Home
Naghmana works with a small group of women in Pakistan who cut, stitch, embroider and finish from home, on hours they set, at a rate agreed before the work starts. Not a factory floor. Not a middleman. Just a short chain between the woman who made your clothes and you.
The embroidery is worked into the fabric panel by panel, before the garment is assembled: necklines, cuffs and borders finished flat, then cut and stitched into a shirt. Dabka is the fine coiled metallic wire that catches the light; the matte one beside it is kora. Both sit on the surface rather than through it, which is why the pattern has depth when you look at it directly.
It is also why an embroidered piece costs what it does, and a printed one doesn’t.
Read the fabric guideA Small Pakistani Label, Run by One Person
Naghmana is a small Pakistani womenswear label. The suits are cut, stitched and embroidered in Pakistan (chiffon, doria lawn, silk and organza, in gold and silver thread work), then photographed, listed, packed and posted by me.
There is no warehouse and no middleman. When something sells out it comes back when the women who make it are ready, which is sometimes weeks. We don’t run sales, because the price is what it costs to make the piece properly and pay the woman who made it.

“The lawn is proper lawn”
You can tell immediately. It is soft and it actually breathes. I wore it through a Phoenix August and did not regret it. Washed it twice already, no problem.
“Wish there were more pieces”
Really happy with what I got, the quality is there. I just want more to choose from. I went through the whole site in about four minutes.
Not having to find a tailor is the entire reason I bought it. The seams are straight, the hem is even, the trouser is the right length. It just worked.
“The organza dupatta is beautiful”
It holds its shape instead of collapsing, which is what you want. The whole set felt like more than I paid.
“Wore it for Eid”
Ordered with about two weeks to go, arrived well before. Three people asked me where it was from.

We do not offer returns or exchanges at the moment. Naghmana is one person and a small stock of pieces, and a returns operation is not something we can run properly yet, so rather than promise one badly, we have not promised one. Then it is on us, and we fix it. Send a photograph within seven days of delivery and we will replace the piece or refund you in full, shipping included.
Some are. The range includes printed pieces, embroidered pieces, and pieces that are both. The product page says which is which, and there is a close-up photograph of the work on every one.
